If You’re Afraid of Color, These Navy Cabinet Kitchens Might Change Your Mind

Lots of people say blue isn’t a timeless kitchen color, but I totally disagree. Blue works with so many styles, cottage, coastal, modern, you name it. I especially love when someone goes bold with it, like fully leaning into those deep blue cabinets with confidence. It shows personality, and honestly, that’s what makes a kitchen memorable.

This navy blue kitchen feels like something straight out of a design magazine, but still lived-in enough to feel real. The navy cabinets with brass pulls look amazing against the white walls and marble counters, it’s that perfect mix of bold and classy. The rolling ladder might drive you nuts trying to cook around it. Honestly, I’d probably leave it there just for the aesthetic and pretend it’s useful.

The next blue kitchen by Studio Dearborn (posted by u/ManiaforBeatles) is a full-on masterclass in both beauty and brains. Two islands might sound over the top, yet they make perfect sense here, one for prepping and one for serving when guests come over. It’s definitely a “look but also live in” kind of kitchen, stylish, functional, and full of clever touches that make cooking feel like a treat.

I love the brass and blue combo in this kitchen, it just works. The deep blue feels rich and moody, and the brass hardware gives it that warm, slightly fancy touch without trying too hard. The natural light from those arched windows makes everything glow, and the copper pots hanging by the range add even more character.

Jay’s kitchen in Bath feels like a little slice of calm, and that skylight completely steals the show.

The way the light pours over those deep blue cabinets makes everything look softer and more inviting, like the kind of place you’d actually enjoy making coffee in on a gray morning. I love how down-to-earth the whole renovation feels, half-tiled walls, open shelves, a few brass touches, nothing overdone.

This Jersey City loft kitchen nails that relaxed, city-cool vibe. The navy lower cabinets add just enough contrast to the warm brick walls, and the gold accents on the barstools and hardware make it feel polished without being overdone. I’m obsessed with the wine-label wallpaper tucked into the corner, it’s playful but still classy. By u/bluerayaugust

The dining space by u/kcbalind in Newcastle might be one of the dreamiest setups I’ve seen. The stretch of skylights completely transforms the room, it’s bright, airy, and feels almost like sitting outdoors without leaving the house. I love how the natural light becomes part of the decor itself, changing the mood throughout the day. Sure, it gets a bit warm in the summer, but honestly, I’d take that trade just to have a ceiling that opens up to the sky.

The skylights flood the space with light, giving the navy blue cabinets a softer, friendlier tone against the warm floors they decided to keep.

I actually love how they balanced practicality with personality: drawers instead of deep cabinets, double faucets for two cooks, and open shelving that makes the kitchen feel lighter and lived-in (even if it sparks a little debate).

It’s fun, functional, and clearly made for two people who genuinely enjoy cooking together. (u/shep-dog-mom)

I’m obsessed with the built-in cookbook shelves (clearly the heart of the room) and the Cristallo quartzite counters that glow under the light.

This remodel by u/AgentMulder2023 is everything I love about a thoughtful kitchen makeover, it’s not trying to be trendy, just timeless and personal.

The mix of that soft blue cabinetry, warm wood beams, and quartzite counters feels so high-end yet inviting. And those walnut-wrapped beams? Genius solution for something purely structural.

I love how resourceful this makeover by u/Sizzlesazzle is, the whole kitchen looks brand new, yet it cost less than a night out. The cabinets were just painted in Valspar’s River Deep, that perfect moody blue that somehow feels calm and bold at once. It’s not a fancy renovation, but it has so much heart and cleverness behind it, the kind of DIY that actually inspires you to start your own weekend project.

I’m totally smitten with this kitchen, it’s tiny, colorful, and full of charm in every corner. The blue tiles paired with that leafy wallpaper shouldn’t work, but they do, perfectly. It feels like stepping into a cheerful forest café, complete with a squirrel-shaped pitcher and a mushroom sugar pot. (Credits go to u/pikkupapupata)

I’m obsessed with the color combo in Alex’s kitchen, that deep blue against the white uppers looks so crisp and modern without feeling cold. It’s such a satisfying before-and-after, especially knowing the old oven literally wouldn’t fit a baking sheet.

The bamboo floors warm everything up beautifully, and even though the drawer pulls weren’t in yet, the space already looks complete. I also love how the dining nook ties in with those same earthy tones: clean, bright, and a little mid-century, but still homey.

This kitchen by u/Vivike15 feels like a little burst of joy in the middle of a gray world. The Laguna Blue lower cabinets bring so much life to the space, they’re bold but somehow soothing, like the color of a calm ocean. I like that she kept the uppers white; it keeps everything feeling open and airy instead of heavy.

I’m obsessed with u/ashforzley’s vintage glass collection — it’s such a cheerful focal point that instantly makes the whole kitchen feel alive. The colors are perfectly arranged, and paired with those blue cabinets, it’s like looking at a piece of art you can actually use every day.

I’m totally in love with u/kisforkyle’s “grandma-inspired” kitchen, it’s proof that cozy doesn’t have to mean boring. The teal cabinets, patterned backsplash, and vintage touches make it feel like a warm hug in kitchen form. The mix of old-school charm and clever storage (those upper shelves are genius) gives it that lived-in, happy vibe everyone secretly wants.

Look how vibrant this kitchen looks, the blue is so striking, yet it feels calm and intentional. What’s even better is that they achieved that rich tone with just paint, which makes it even more impressive.

Paired with those Gaudí-inspired hex tiles and that killer view outside, the whole space feels like a mix of ocean energy and artistic flair.

The blue shade in this kitchen is bold but still feels so homey, and the fact they got that perfect shade with just paint makes it even cooler. The warm brown floors balance the blue beautifully, and the farmhouse sink ties it all together. It’s one of those spaces that looks modern but still cozy.

I can’t get over how good u/marcomarconia’s kitchen looks,  it’s that perfect mix of smart DIY and pure design intuition. The Aegean Teal cabinets are stunning on their own, but that stained-glass mosaic backsplash? Total showstopper.

It’s colorful without being loud, and the way it catches the light gives the whole room this warm, jewel-toned glow.

I love how they reused most of the original cabinets, added those upper cubbies, and still managed to make it feel completely new. It’s creative, efficient, and seriously inspiring, proof that refurbishing can look just as luxe as a full remodel.

u/japarker8’s kitchen remodel definitely makes me wanna fall for the bold choices here. The sapphire blue cabinets are vibrant, and the gold accents, yes, even that dramatic tiger statue, pull everything together with personality.

It’s refreshing to see color and character return to kitchens after years of millennial gray. I like how they carried the cabinets all the way up to the ceiling too; it makes the space feel taller and more intentional.

Whether you’re team blue or not, you’ve got to respect the confidence behind this remodel.

This might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine. u/intimidateu_sexually’s kitchen feels like pure joy, those buttery yellow walls and blue cabinets create such a cozy, storybook vibe. It’s the kind of space that instantly lifts your mood, like waking up to sunlight on a weekend morning.

I actually love the way u/motherof3doggos decorated around that pink cow-print fridge, it doesn’t just sit there as a statement piece, the whole kitchen feels built to match its fun, quirky energy. The blue cabinets, patterned floor, and open rainbow shelves all tie together so effortlessly.

u/bralinis’ kitchen in Alagoas, Brazil is living proof that blue absolutely can work, and beautifully so. The bold Pantone 3590 C cabinets pop against white counters and warm accents of yellow and red, giving the whole space a vibrant, lived-in glow. I love that she ignored the “blue won’t work” advice and went for it anyway.

Bonus

I love how cozy this kitchen looks, like the kind of space that makes you want to linger long after dinner’s done.

ohhomelygirl managed to keep it simple and soulful, reusing her old cabinets but giving them new shaker doors and a soft green-blue paint that pairs beautifully with those copper porcelain tiles she designed the whole room around. The blue Toile de Jouy wallpaper pulls everything together in that perfectly lived-in space.
